The Northern Irish Music Prize has announced a new award for its 2025 edition: the PRS for Music NI Creator of the Year Award.
The award will be presented during the main NI Music Prize ceremony on 12 November, which will take place at Ulster Hall in Belfast.
Created in partnership with PRS for Music, it will shine a spotlight on the exceptional creativity of Northern Ireland’s music creators. The award will also further strengthen the Prize’s mission to ‘celebrate and champion the artists shaping our cultural landscape’.
The inaugural shortlist for the PRS for Music NI Creator of the Year Award is as follows:

- Jordan Adetunji
- Die Hexen
- Chalk
- Dea Matrona
In a statement about the award, Charlotte Dryden, CEO of Oh Yeah Music Centre, said: ‘We are thrilled to launch this new award with PRS for Music. It underlines our commitment to celebrating and supporting songwriters and creators at every stage of their careers, and to showcasing the remarkable music coming out of Northern Ireland.’
