Elly Jackson aka La Roux, Maxi Jazz from Faithless and DJ Food’s Patrick Carpenter will all be playing at the Oxjam Brixton Takeover in August.

The party, which takes place at the Lambeth in south London on 18 August, will see DJ sets from all of the artists alongside Rhythm Connection’s Nadia Kasbia and Mylon D from the Lick it Back club night.

The Oxjam Brixton Takeover is a multi-venue event in Brixton which will occur on 19 October and feature a host of musical talent from established artists to emerging talent connected to the area.

La Roux enjoyed great success with their self–titled debut album back in 2009 and a hotly anticipated follow up is expected at some stage this year.

Maxi Jazz was previously the MC with the multi-million selling Faithless and has devoted his time to DJing since the band decided to part their separate ways.

The Oxjam Takeover is a multi-venue one-ticket-gives-access-to-all events. Since starting in 2009 there have been 129 takeovers that have generated £525,000 for Oxfam.

This year the 60 takeover gigs aim to raise a total of £250,000
