This Thursday (10 September) is World Suicide Prevention Day. To raise awareness, KT Tunstall will be hosting Music with Meaning, an online festival focussing on the importance of mental wellbeing.

Featuring KT Tunstall, Brandi Carlile, James Bay, Ruby Amanfu, Roachford, Howe Gelb, and Krystle Warren, performers will share exclusive recordings of original songs and cover versions that have personal significance to them.

Special guest speakers include Sarah Millican, Marcus Brigstocke, Rachel Parris, Edith Bowman, Dr. Julia Jones aka Dr. Rock and Music for Mental Wealth founder, Laura Westcott.

Music for Mental Wealth Ambassador KT Tunstall said: ‘There is an accepted view that artists ‘suffer for their art’, or are ‘tortured artists’. So many artists have been lost devastatingly early to overwhelming breakdowns in their mental health. Writing, creating, sharing, and performing are all intensely emotional vocations, and no-one sits you down with a rule book on how to handle the difficult days (and nights), of which there are plenty. I’m very excited to become a Music for Mental Wealth ambassador, and extend a hand to be part of the solution.’

Music for Mental Wealth is a non-profit focusing on the prevention of mental health challenges in the music industry. We offer coaching and preventative measures for artists, performers and those around them in the music industry to enjoy happier and healthier lives.
