Jarvis Cocker is to judge a Pulp karaoke contest in New York to help launch Pulp: A Film About Life, Death, and Supermarkets.

Jarvis Cocker is to judge a Pulp karaoke contest in New York to help launch Pulp: A Film About Life, Death, and Supermarkets.

The event will take place on 7 August in New York at a special screening of the new film from director Florian Habicht.

Jarvis will be on hand to take part in a Q&A with the director as well as judge a special karaoke contest.

To take part fans need to tweet @RooftopFilms with the hashtag #singforjarvis and a reason why they should be chosen to take part.

All Time High, Babies, Common People, Disco 2000, Do You Remember The First Time, Help The Aged, Mile End, Monday Morning, Sorted For the E’s and Wizz, This is Hardcore are among the options contestants can sing.

Anyone chosen to perform will receive two free tickets to the show with the winner awarded a special prize.
