We are excited to announce that stripped-down post-punk duo Prinzhorn Dance School will be making a rare live performance as headliners at our M magazine night at The Sebright Arms (Hackney, London) on 28 January 2015, in celebration of Independent Venue Week.

** all the tickets are now gone for this gig, so we're offering a one-in, one-out door policy on the night, if you want to try your luck! **

They will be joined by Lost Map’s Tuff Love and DJ Richard Norris (Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve/The Grid).

Following the success of its inaugural year in 2014, Independent Venue Week is back with even more venues on board and a cracking programme of gigs up and down the country.

PRS for Music and M magazine have once again pledged support, and our gig on the 28th will celebrate some of the best bits of the Great British gig tradition - with brilliant bands, a friendly, independent pub and a small army of gig-loving music fans…

It’s been seven years since Prinzhorn Dance School first caught the ears of LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and his DFA label issued their fractious debut record – a minimal celebration of guitars-drums-vocals that flourished at the sharp end of post-punk.

Since then, the acclaimed duo released the stark and stunning follow-up Clay Class and have been busy working on their third long player, Home Economics, expected summer 2015.

Buzzy support act Tuff Love make a rare trip to London from Glasgow, armed with their trademark shimmery, hooky, twangy indie sounds. Fresh from a slot on the BBC 6 Music playlist, the pair will release another scuzzy slice of alt-pop, the Dross EP, on 9 February.

More tunes will come courtesy of DJ Richard Norris. Best known for his work as The Grid and with fellow music obsessive Erol Alkan as Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve, Richard is a musical time traveller who’s journeyed the psychedelic cosmos to build a record collection as impressive as his own back catalogue.
