Downtown Abbey, The Paradise and Private Peaceful were among some of the TV programmes and films to be awarded at the International Music and Sound Awards.

This year’s inaugural global awards is the first of its kind to recognise the achievements of composers of music and sound for the creative media,  advertising, film, TV and video games.

Dan Neale, co-founder  of the event, said: ‘Our awards are an international showcase for the very best in music and sound design for the media and we are very proud to be able to announce the names of those that have undoubtedly excelled in their field this year.’

A panel of 70-plus judges including the likes of Klaus Badelt (Composer, Pirates of the Caribbean) and Paul Lipson (Audio Director, Microsoft Game Studios, US) helped decide the winners.
