Alt-soul artist Tawiah (pictured), Creation Records’ Alan McGee and producer Dan Cox are among the speakers confirmed for the upcoming Sound City+ event in Liverpool.

Tawiah will appear on the Imposters Session, a panel exploring 'imposter syndrome' within the creative world and how it could impinge on a music-maker’s career.

Fiona Buckland, writer (The Guardian, The Independent) and life coach, whose clients have included Alexander McQueen, Google and Soho House, will also take part.

The session is co-hosted by PRS Foundation’s Keychange initiative and Brighter Sound’s Both Sides Now programme.

Elsewhere, McGee will talk about his life in music for an In Conversation session, while producer Cox, who’s worked with Laura Marling, Thurston Moore, Ghostpoet and The Staves, will be on The Art of Making Records panel.

Other panels and discussions will focus on music publishing, touring, streaming, getting your music on TV, distribution, mental health and more.

Sound City+ takes place at the British Music Experience in Liverpool on 4 May, and precedes the Sound City music festival on 5 and 6 May.

Artists slated for the festival include Baxter Dury, IDLES, Superorganism, Black Honey and Jaws. For more info about both strands, see https://plus.soundcity.uk.com/
