Bastille, Bestival and Jake Bugg are among the acts nominated for the 2013 European Festival Awards.
The event, which takes place on 15 January 2014 in Groningen, marks the opening of Eurosonic Noorderslag, the first music industry event of the year.
According to organisers, the shortlist features more than 360 festivals from 34 different countries and was compiled using over 620,000 votes.
James Drury, managing director of Festival Awards Ltd, which organises the event, said: ‘This has been a record-breaking year for the European Festival Awards and the hardest-fought competition we've had.
‘There have been so many wonderful festivals involved from across Europe and it's testament to the passion of the festival-goers that there has been such a level of engagement. I can't wait to reveal the winners at the awards ceremony on 15 January.’
Last year’s winners include Foo Fighters as best headliner and Belgian festival Pukkelpop as promoter of the year.
