EFG London Jazz Festival 2018 reveals line-up

Lisa Stansfield, Guy Barker, Nubya Garcia and Zara McFarlane are among the talent confirmed for the EFG London Jazz Festival 2018.

Lisa Stansfield, Guy Barker, Nubya Garcia and Zara McFarlane are among the talent confirmed for the EFG London Jazz Festival 2018.

The festival opens on 16 November with the Jazz Voice gala performance, featuring Barker’s 42-piece orchestra alongside vocalists including Stansfield, McFarlane, Laila Biali, Allan Harris, Deva Mahal and Anthony Strong.

Saxophonist Garcia will perform a double headliner with Chicago drummer Makaya McCraven, while MOBO Award nominee Camilla George and neo-soul vocalist Cherise Adams-Burnett will also feature.

The festival will also include Anthony Joseph's celebration of the UK's Caribbean diaspora, Windrush: A Celebration, and a tribute to the musical life of Hugh Masekela.

Jazz giants this year include Archie Shepp, Abdullah Ibrahim and Ekaya, with the list of international stars continues with Bill Frisell, Lea DeLaria, Madeleine Peyroux, Dave Douglas, Avishai Cohen, Myra Melford, Kandace Springs, Ethan Iverson, Melody Gardot, Youn Sun Nah and Hollywood star Jeff Goldblum.

The festival will also host the BBC Young Jazz Musician 2018 Final.

Now in its 26th year, the EFG London Jazz Festival remains the capital’s largest city-wide festival, with over 2,000 artists performing in 70 venues across London. For more info, and tickets, see https://efglondonjazzfestival.org.uk/
