Deezer will offer £2,500 to the most streamed Momentum Music Fund artists on its new Momentum Deezer App.

PRS for Music Foundation and Deezer announced the launch of the new app for web and mobile, which will provide music lovers with more artist information, exclusive interviews and links to listen and share music.

The Deezer Award will encourage music fans to listen to and share the music using the app with those artists receiving the most streams receiving the £2,500.

Vanessa Reed, executive director of PRS for Music Foundation, said: ‘Deezer’s support of Momentum helps us to fund more artists and gives the artists an opportunity to reach more fans by developing their digital presence.

‘It’s great to be working with a creative and pro-active streaming partner which has services and incentives for emerging talent at the heart of its vision. We hope the app and the award will offer a unique opportunity to follow new Momentum endorsed artists on their journey to more success.’

The £2,500 Deezer Award will be handed out four times over two years.

Momentum is managed by PRS for Music Foundation, supported using public funding from National Lottery through Arts Council England, and is in association with Deezer.
