The BRIT Awards has announced its 2023 nominees this week via the Bring on the BRITS livestream.

Wet Leg and Harry Styles are this year’s frontrunners, with four nominations each. Cat Burns, Fred Again.., Stormzy and The 1975 are close on their heels, all with three nominations.

The nominees for the gender neutral Artist of the Year category are all men, with Central Cee, Fred Again.., George Ezra, Harry Styles and Stormzy in the running. The shortlist for Best New Artist displays a more even gender split, with Kojey Radical, Mimi Webb, Rina Sawayama, Sam Ryder and Wet Leg up for the accolade.

Songwriting teams prevail this year, as groups of three or more writers are behind the majority of the nominated tracks for Song of the Year. Only two nominees in this category, Dave’s Starlight and B.O.T.A (Baddest of them All) by Eliza Rose and Interplanetary Criminal were composed by a single person. They were written by Dave and Eliza Rose respectively.

There are a number of first-time nominees across the categories in 2023, including Cat Burns, including Nova Twins, Sam Ryder, Kojey Radical, Gayle, Gabriels, Eliza Rose, Jack Harlow, Mimi Webb and Blackpink.
