Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sande and Passenger are among the British songwriters nominated for the BMI Song of the Year Award.

The prize will be presented at the BMI London Awards at the Dorchester Hotel in London on 13 October.

The event celebrates the achievements of European songwriters whose songs have been popular on US TV and radio.

Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sande, Michael Rosenberg (aka Passenger) and Ellie Goulding are among the British singer songwriters leading the way in the awards.
