Applications for the Music Publishers Association's (MPA) 2018 Richard Toeman Scholarship are now open.

One scholarship will go to an applicant with less than five years’ experience in the business and one to a final year student or recent graduate.

Recipients will receive entry to MPA training and professional development courses, as well as invitations to MPA socials and quizzes.

The Scholarship also rewards the successful candidates £500 towards further training or professional career coaching of their choice.

The student/recent graduate will also benefit from assistance in securing a relevant work placement.

Antonia Gilham, general manager of the MPA, said: ‘The MPA is passionate about nurturing and advocating the next generation of music publishers.

‘The scholarship continues to draw the brightest, most diverse new talent in the British industry and previous recipients reflect just this. From working at major international publishing companies to independent boutique publishers, past awardees have gone above and beyond.’

The scholarship, which has been running since 2006, is named in memory of Richard Toeman who died suddenly in March 2005 following a 40-year career at Josef Weinberger Ltd.

Full details of the scheme are now available on the MPA website, with entries closing on Friday 20 April 2018.
