This week we’re serving you some indie-rock from the likes of Girl Ray and Mystery Jets, with a side of Emma-Jean Thackray’s synthy jazz.

Tune in…

Girl Ray – Friend Like That

It’s prom time for north London trio Girl Ray in their new video for Friend Like That, a track that charms with its simplicity and upbeat indie-synth vibes. What a great way to thaw the February chills.

Mystery Jets – A Billion Heartbeats

Mystery Jets are finally back with new music after postponing their seventh album, A Billion Heartbeats, due to the hospitalisation of their frontman, Blaine Harrison. The band have released the title track and, honestly, it was worth the wait. The indie-pop anthem will no-doubt have gig-goers chanting up a storm in no time.

Honey Lung – Be My Friend

Honey Lung come bearing good news this week: they’ve signed to independent label Big Scary Monsters. In celebration, they’ve released Be My Friend, an instant bop complete with growly vocals and a strong nineties rock vibe.

Drug Store Romeos – Frame Of Reference

Need to chill after a heavy weekend? Drug Store Romeos have got your back with new track Frame Of Reference. The low key electronic ditty oozes relaxation, teamed with Sarah’s angelic vocals, you really can’t go wrong.

Emma-Jean Thackray – Rain Dance / Wisdom

Rain Dance / Wisdom is an eight-minute epic from award-winning jazz composer Emma-Jean Thackray. A perfect blend of rhythmic synth and riffy brass, this track proves why Emma-Jean is so celebrated in the London Jazz scene.
