Massacre House Party are an indie-pop trio from Malta, brimming with clever guitar hooks and crashing percussion.
Formed of vocalist and guitarist Sylvan, drummer Aaron and guitarist and bassist Samwel, the band came together three years ago after each being in various other indie bands.
Still working nine-to-five office jobs, the trio are currently putting together their new EP. It promises to pick up where their first four bouncy singles left off and supply plenty of upbeat pop antics and catchy riffs.
With the band set for Malta's Rock The South Festival next week, we spend some time with them to unearth their (surprising) inspirations...
We first started writing music because…
Of girls...and we wanted to express our emotions and feelings to the outside world in a language that so many can easily understand!
We have been making music since...
2014 as a band. Individually, since forever it seems!
Our music is…
Danceable. Jumpable. Funable!
You'll like our music if you listen to...
Your heart.
Music is important because…
No matter which country or ethnicity you are from, you will understand it perfectly.
Our biggest inspiration are...
Cupcakes! You can't be sad when you're holding a cupcake!
Our dream collaboration would be…
Radiohead, Arcade Fire and Arctic Monkeys. Even Kanye would be a nice touch.
To try us out, listen to our track…
Uh Oh! or Love this City or The Highway.
We’re looking forward to playing Rock the South Festival because…
It's always fun to hang out with different musicians and friends for three straight days. They become your family in a way and it's great listening to what others have to offer!
If we weren’t making music we’d be…
Tied to a desk job, 9 to 5. Oh wait, we already do that. After work is when the magic happens though.
In 10 years’ time we want to be...
HAPPY! So... where's that cupcake?!
