The band finished 2011 on a high with the release of their second single, Milk, released through Luv Luv Luv Records in December. The single paves the way for what’s set to be an exceptional 2012 for the fresh out of the blocks British band.
Following on from the debut single Wax, Milk is another track cut from the trademark Theme Park cloth. Falsetto vocals and guitar reverb combine with a killer bass line to great affect making the urge to nod along impossible to ignore.
A reworked version of Milk has been chosen to appear on Kitsune’s Maison 12 compilation, and there will be a remix from FrYars as part of the single package.
Having just completed a touring slot supporting Bombay Bicycle Club and gigs with Summer Camp, Neon Indian and Antlers they’re certainly keeping themselves busy.
In addition to the UK live activity, Theme Park were one of the first bands to play at David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive inspired members club Le Silencio in Paris recently.
30 Seconds with Theme Park
How long have you been making music?
Me and Miles have been making music all our life. We're twins so we've always been messing around with different musical ideas.
What inspired your latest album?
Miles: It isn't so much a single inspiration, more just whats going on around us at the time and different music influences were listening to.
What process do you go through to create your music?
Miles: A painful one. We are perfectionists so it takes a while to get songs to where we want them to be.
How would you describe your sound?
Oscar: That's difficult but I guess its alternative music with a very rhythmical rhythm section. I guess groovy is one word you can use.
What would your dream collaboration be?
Marcus: A Thom Yorke would be incredible!
Where can we catch you performing next?
Our next show will be at Camden Barfly on the 28 January.
