Who? Oh Wonder are Anthony West and Josephine Vander Gucht.
What? Super-classy synth-pop.
From where? London.
What’s the story? Anthony and Josephine first landed on our radar back in 2015, when they set themselves the impossible task of self-releasing a single a month for a whole year.
Despite the relentless graft, the exercise was a huge success, delivering a perfect slice of home cooked synth-pop to order each month.
During the year, they reeled in the tastemakers, garnered millions of hits on SoundCloud, were regularly topping the Hype Machine charts and even bagged a publishing deal with Imagem.
Fast forward to 2017 and the keyboard-chord loving duo have maintained their wicked way with a melody. And, with a less harrowing release schedule, they’ve managed to hone their craft with new track Ultralife.
With galloping percussion and shiny synth tinkles, it’s got killer pace and enough singalong moments to smash this upcoming summer festival season... Once those harmonies lodge in your brain, they’ll make themselves at home for days on end – you have been warned.
Currently on tour in the US, following a stint at Coachella, they’ll be back in the UK soon, with a sold-out show at Omeara, London, on 10 May (which sold out in 60 seconds!) plus a slot at Reading/Leeds Festival.
Sounds like? London Grammar on steroids.
Must hear? Latest anthem, Ultralife –
