Electronic artist Kim Ann Foxman has been skirting around the edges of the international club circuit for a few years now, sprinkling dance floors around the world with her special blend of outsider house.

As well known for her iconic style and jewellery designs as she is for her versatile approach to music, Kim Ann has carved an interesting niche for herself along the blurred lines of disco, house and techno.

As a DJ, her cult following takes her from her New York base to progressive cities around the world, while her production and songwriting work has seen her form allegiances with likeminded leftfield luminaries including Hercules & Love Affair and Maya Jane Coles.

Relocating from her native Hawaii to the Big Apple, she fell in with Andrew Butler’s Hercules & Love Affair project, collaborating on two albums before setting up as a solo proposition.

She has since spread her creative wings to collaborate with Maya Jane Coles, Ron Jason, Kink and Neville Watson.

Borrowing from the swing of nineties New York house and disco, she’s fast establishing her own musical voice, becoming a go-to remixer for artists as diverse as The xx and Max Essa.

This summer, a hectic DJing schedule will see Kim Ann grace the decks from Istanbul to Ibiza, while new material is expected to surface shortly.

Kim Ann has just joined PRS for Music.
