Since 2009, he’s been dazzling dancers and club critics with a DJing and production style that effortlessly blends the best in boogie, house and jazz with a warmth and personality that few others can emulate.
Classically trained as a youth, he’s progressed into one of the world’s most exciting producers, as well as one of the club scenes leading DJs with his club sessions down at Plastic People, often alongside the likes of Four Tet or Theo Parrish, becoming the stuff of London clubbing legend.
Eglo Records is the imprint he runs alongside Rinse FM stalwart Alexander Nut. Not only have his productions such as Love Me Like This and recent epic Wires endeared him and his music to the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs and Benji B but he’s also showed off a canny knack for sourcing the best in new talent. The likes of Fatima and Funkineven are not only two of London’s hottest new artists, but they also call Eglo their home.
On top of this, Sam is also the leader of the Floating Points Ensemble, a 16 piece group which recently won the Best Maida Vale Session going at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards. His talents have not gone unrecognised by the wider industry. He was also one of the recipients of funding from PRS for Music Foundation’s Momentum Music Fund. As a result, a debut album is currently in the works which should deliver on the promise of the last few years. Watch this space for more from this British super talent…
