Thriving on a shared inspiration, and driven solely by the love of their art, Brother & Bones is the common ground between a body of musicians, artists, photographers and film-makers.
Leading this band of hungry underdogs is Richard Thomas. A prolific songwriter whose songs are the centre point of Brother & Bones. Reflective, ominous and provocative, the songs are as honest and diverse as the rugged south-western landscape from which they were born.
Described as ‘Powerful, uplifting and impeccably performed’, the live show is a powerhouse of performance with a rarely seen weight coming from a band fronted with an acoustic guitar. The five-piece set-up also features two drummers, giving the ability to deliver a ferocious dynamic at times, as well as providing the subtleties that make for a truly world class performance. .
With shows ranging from a solo or acoustic trio set-up, anything up to a 12-piece mini orchestra, Brother & Bones are engaging and charismatic, finding a perfect balance between moments of delicacy and a formidable energy.
We have a new five track EP, recorded live (no overdubs) in a Cornish farmhouse studio, being released online on 20 June 2011.
First single Don’t Forget To Pray was released on 14th February 2011 and has to date the video has had nearly 10,000 views on word of mouth alone.
Recent winners of Best Band and Best Live Show at the South West Live Music Awards (competition included Newton Faulkner, Raurri Joseph, Xavier Rudd).
