The set will pick up the thread from 2010’s Lost Where I Belong, her debut set for Ninja Tune which was produced by Bonobo and featured two co-written tracks with label stalwart Fink.
The album cemented her position at the crossroads of soul, jazz and folk but it was last year’s remix of her track Everything You Never Had (We Had it All) by Breach that really propelled her into the mainstream.
The electronic anthem went top ten late last year – hitting number one in the UK dance chart - and had the likes of Anna Mac and Sara Cox spinning cartwheels.
She’s also gained the backing of MistaJam, Zane Lowe, Toddla T, Skream and Benga for her rich, lived-in vocals and melancholic lyrics, and has been remixed by everyone from Mount Kimbie to Flying Lotus and Tokimonsta.
Starting out in her South London bedroom with a couple of old tape machines, seven-year-old Andreya would sing poems she had written and practice harmonies.
That early love of improvisation would warp over the years to influence her successful Freeflo Sessions - a hypnotic one-woman live show using a sampler to loop vocals, percussive sounds and beats.
A stint at the Red Bull Music Academy in Australia followed, where Andreya picked up yet more tools with which to craft her weighty pop.
As she spends the next few months working on her second album, a thrum of anticipation is building up around her. Having been name checked in our own Tastemakers’ Tips roll call, among many others, eyes and ears will be openly awaiting her next installment…
