M caught up with founder member Isaac as the band prepare to launch their new single Robocops and Flipflops.

How long have you been making music?

(Isaac) Since I was about 5 years old, starting out jamming with my Dad who played in a blues band that used to practice in a sheep shearing shed in rural New Zealand.

What inspired your latest album/single

There were a few things that inspired our new album. One being the lack of political music out there in the market place at a time when it is paramount that so many issues in our world need to be addressed to a new generation, and a solidarity to be consolidated amongst us all who feel strongly that change needs to be made by force and solidarity. Also we were influenced by the apocalyptic future that seems to be approaching, so we added our imagination to this, naming the album "last inhabited place on earth.

What process do you go through to create your music?

Three different approaches seem to work with us, Gabriel composing with Lola singing. Myself writing and arranging and finally when the get time to jam without pressure can bring out tunes, again like Last Inhabited Place on Earth.

How would you describe your sound?

That’s the most difficult question I have ever been asked and I really don’t know how to answer without offending, sometime I will call it post apocaliptic disco/neo policital underground electro... but really does it matter?

What would your dream collaboration be?

We are talking about doing something with The Rapture, they are on a similar wavelength to us and I think we could come up with something of a supergroup style project, without being a supergroup...

Where can we catch you performing next?

We play Cargo for the release of the single Robocops and FlipFlops on the 27 July. There will be more shows coming up as we rebuild our stature as one of London’s best live bands...
