Turtle, the latest project from Glaswegian singer songwriter Jon Cooper, neatly links the intensity of Radiohead with the production prowess of Jon Hopkins or James Blake.
On his latest release for Beatnik Creative, Who Knows EP, his leftfield pop leanings come into focus against a backdrop of bulky beats and murky electronics - leaving a warm glow after each listen.
Jon augments all his music with live instrumentation which effortlessly ratchets up the intensity and contrast against his stark vocals and dusty rhythms.
Although this is Jon’s first EP as Turtle, he’s already being championed by blogs including Line of Best Fit and This is Fake DIY, and is definitely one to keep your eye on going into 2014.

I heard the album Oxygene by Jean Michel Jarre at the age of 11 and it completely inspired me to learn keyboard and figure out how the hell he did it.
