Whether rolling out techno treats for Cocoon or stitching together essential mixes for Get Physical’s Body Language series, producer and DJ Tim Green is revelling in a particularly rich vein of form in 2016.

Tim is a producer specialising in the darker end of machine funk, making beats well suited to the kind of nights that stretch out into days. At the same time, he's also able to brew up the sort of house anthems perfect for the sunshine months, showing off his dexterity as a music maker. Since he first emerged a few years back, his eclectic music has become an essential part of the armoury of a brace of top-end DJs including Pete Tong, Richie Hawtin and Eats Everything.

With previous releases for Dirty Bird and Saved, his latest moment, For A Memory on Lee Burridge’s Get Weird shows Tim to be in fine form - an emotive heater that should be a highlight for any Ibiza terrace and beyond. With gigs lined up at Cocoon, a debut at Berghain in the diary and more music planned, we spend 30 seconds with an artist in unstoppable form…

I first started writing music because…
Creation is unlike anything else.

I have been making music since…
I was seven years old, if I remember correctly.

My music is…
Evolving.

You'll like my music if you listen to...
Any type of electronic music (I hope). I am best know for writing house and techno music, but I hope there is something for everyone in my music.

My favourite venue is…
Fabric in London, as its like home with so many memories.

Music is important because…
It’s something we can and should all share together.

My biggest inspiration is…
Incredible forward thinking artists and their music.

My dream collaboration would be…
With Peter Gabriel.

To try me out, listen to my song…
Eclipse.

If I wasn’t making music I’d be…
Lost.

In 10 years’ time I want to be...
Creating a much wider span of music with complete creative freedoms. Hopefully due to myself carving out a long legacy of diverse music, where people will always expect to hear new styles and sounds from me.
