Nick Phillips and his long-time collaborator Lou Hayter are New Sins, an electronic production duo reared from the ashes of day-glo 'new rave' pop outfit New Young Pony Club.

The pair have been collaborating since 2008 and their debut seven inch single It Doesn’t Work Like That caught the ears of the Guardian, earning them a nod as New Band of the Day.

Various other projects have slowed their output somewhat (Lou balances modelling with Tomorrow’s World, a collaboration with Air’s JB Dunckel while Nick is a film composer and producer) until the bright, club friendly electronica of Lights Down dropped last year. This bass heavy slab of ravey computer music has since been picked up by Defected and been rebooted for 2015 with a new remix by chart tickling production duo Waze and Odyssey.

With a debut album currently in the works, the New Sins take on club/pop looks set to be the soundtrack to the more discerning raver’s summer…

We first started writing music because…
It's what we always wanted to do.

We have been making music since…
2004.

Our music is…
Club/pop.

You'll like our music if you listen to...
SBTRKT, St Etienne, Lizzy Mercier, the Chromatics.

Our favourite venue is…
The Barbican London/Berghain Berlin/The Lux Lisbon.

Music is important because…
It's the most important form of expression.

Our biggest inspiration is…
Prince.

Our dream collaboration would be…
Arthur Russell.

To try us out, listen to our song…
Lights Down.

If we weren’t making music we’d be…
Carpenters.

In 10 years time we want to be…
Retired on the beach in LA.
