Despite being under the radar in their hometown, the Slow Show have found themselves a cult act, with a devoted following in the UK and across Europe.
It’s the band’s use of choirs and colliery brass bands as well as Americana twang that has helped them find an audience, all capped with singer Rob Goodwin’s deep baritone. Now with album two Dream Darling unleased, the group are sounding more emotive and powerful than ever before.
Meet the band below and catch them out on tour later in November…
We first started writing music because…
We want to simply express ourselves. Writing and performing is such a cathartic experience. It’s a pressure valve. It’s a way of escaping the real world for an hour every evening with your best mates!
We have been making music since…
2010.
Our music is…
Distinct and emotional.
You'll like our music if you listen to…
Lambchop, Tom Waits and The National.
Our favourite venues are…
Botanique in Belgium and Bush Hall, London.
Music is important because…
It expands your mind and engages all emotions and sometimes without the need for words.
Our biggest inspiration is…
For everyone to be affected positively by our music.
Our dream collaboration would be…
With Joni Mitchell.
To try us out, listen to our song…
Strangers Now.
If we weren’t making music we’d be…
Listening to music.
In 10 years’ time we want to be…
Living in a healthy and happy world where we all respect each other.
