Peter and Kerry are Peter Lyons and Kerry Leatham, who make electro-folk informed pop that belies their seemingly twee band name.

They describe their music as 'accessible pop music', which it rightfully is, but pop music that draws upon a wealth of folk and electro influences. The band name Peter and Kerry was quickly thought up for their inaugural EP, Clothes, Friends, Photos, but they decided to stick with it.

Both of them have separately enjoyed solo careers, their band originally a side project from their solo work. They recently released their first full length album, La Trimouille, named after the region of Western France the album was written in (a far cry from their EP's humble beginnings, written at Peter's father's Southampton home).

Peter and Kerry recently completed a tour with label mates on Tape Club Records, which started selling mix tapes on cassette only, hence the name. But, in the midst of their busy schedule, we caught Peter and Kerry for a quick 30 seconds interview to find out how their songwriting dynamic works.

Look out for our full length interview with Peter and Kerry on M online soon.

We first started writing music because…
We like making music together!

We have been making music since…
August 2010 when we recorded our Clothes, Friends, Photos EP.

Our music is…
Yamaha keyboards, vocal harmonies, echoey guitars.

You'll like us if you listen to...
Thompson Twins - Hold Me Now, Fiction Factory - Feels Like Heaven, Cyndi Lauper - Time After Time.

Our favourite venue is…
Hanbury Ballroom in Brighton where we played last year. It's lovely!

Music is important because…
A lot of people would do stuff like go to the gym or jog to give them time to think. We just do music stuff.

Our biggest inspiration is…
Each other.

Our dream collaboration would be…
Beach House! Two guys, two gals and lots of reverb.

To try us out, listen to our song…
Cirque - it's probably not what people expect from a band called 'Peter and Kerry'.

If we weren't making music we’d be…
Down and out in Paris (or London).

In 10 years time we want to be...
Living in La Trimouille where we wrote our first album.
