New London duo Night Games are aptly named purveyors of seductive synth pop, producing an ambient, slightly sinister sound best heard with the curtains closed.
Citing influences as wide ranging as Kate Bush to the futuristic world of Blade Runner, the pair have spent the last few months locked in a studio, honing their sound and polishing their songwriting.
The first musical fruits from their industry is Nine Days, a cinematic slow builder reminiscent of Jessie Ware or London Grammar at their most languid. It’s the first in a series of releases expected from the pair over the next few months. Check out the new video for the track below – if you like what you hear, then you can catch them at London’s Lexington on 31 July…
We first started writing music because…
It's the greatest form of expression. That, and we're terrible at everything else.
We have been making music since…
We met at a party last year.
Our music is…
Cinematic.
You'll like our music if you listen to…
A sleeping metropolis.
Our favourite venue is…
St. John’s in Hackney is incredible.
Music is important because…
It can communicate any feeling.
Our biggest inspiration is…
A broken heart.
Our dream collaboration would be…
Dave Okumu.
To try us out, listen to our song…
Nine Days.
If we weren’t making music we’d be…
Mime artists.
In 10 years’ time we want to be…
Scoring a cult sci-fi epic and/or playing gigs on Mars.
