Irish electronic ravers Le Galaxie are well known for taking the glitter and energy of a Saturday night’s dance, dicing it up and firing it at more mainstream ears.
Ever since 2009, the four-piece have concocted a pop sound coupling late night sparkles with roof-raising euphoria. Michael Pope, David McGloughlin, Anthony Hyland and Alastair Higgins got together after playing together in alt-rockers 66e. They ditched their guitars in favour of dancing and have never looked back, getting a name for themselves with some ramble rousing sets at the likes of Latitude, SXSW and Secret Garden Party, plus a series of killer releases.
The band are now gearing up to take their success to the next level, with latest LP Le Club and single Love System set to do even more to bring their name to the masses. If you're like the productions of Aeroplane, Mylo or Flight Facilities, then you'll already be orbiting their sound. Get to know them below and check out the video to their new single...
We first started writing music because…
The final episode of Quantum Leap was utterly disappointing.
We have been making music since…
2009.
Our music is…
Dancefloor tearjerkers.
You'll like our music if you listen to...
M83, Cameo, John Carpenter, The Chemical Brothers.
Our favourite venue is…
The Olympia, Dublin.
Music is important because…
We would literally die without it.
Our biggest inspiration is…
The audience.
Our dream collaboration would be…
Jimmy Somerville.
To try us out, listen to my song…
Love System (feat. Elaine Mai).
If we weren’t making music we’d be…
Hunting Donald Trump for sport.
In 10 years’ time we want to be...
The Pyramid Stage.
