London-based producer, visual artist and NTS Radio host Kit Grill takes the minimal electronica of Koreless and Steve Reich as pointers.

Kit’s output spans across music, photography, painting and video. After graduating from Chelsea College of Art and Design, he spent the next two years experimenting with sound and studying music.

In 2013 he released his first EP Expressions on Primary Colours, and later that year a full studio album Mirror Image was released through the GetMe! label.

His latest music comes in the form of five-track EP, Westway, released towards the end of last year. The release showed off a new range of influences from eighties electronica to classical while his monthly Sunday show on NTS is a great showcase to the myriad influences contained in his music. Watch the ace stark video to Street Runner below and get to know him in our 30 seconds…

I first started writing music because…
I was my own boss.

I have been making music since…
2010.

My music is…
?Whatever comes out of my head at that time.

You'll like my music if you listen to...
Lots of different types of music.

My favourite venue is…
Barbican Music Hall, Corsica Studios, Butlins ?and a car?.

Music is important because…
It makes life more interesting.

My biggest inspiration is…
?My mum.

My dream collaboration would be…
Kate Bush.

To try me out, listen to my song…
Street Runner. If that’s too much try ?some ?of my ?earlier EPs.

If I wasn’t making music I’d be…
?A ?r?acing car driver.

In 10 years’ time I want to be...
Sitting in front of a fire with my girlfriend and Bruno (our future dog).
