Originally hailing from Tehran, it’s in London where producer and DJ Kasra V has made a musical name for himself.

Taking inspiration from his auntie’s vast tape and record collection of disco rarities and cosmic boogie, Kasra’s music and selections manage to smudge the sonic lines between purist house, funky and synthesisers, all with a distinctly balearic middle-Eastern edge.

He’s become a much-loved guest on London indie radio station NTS with his bi-weekly Paradise Show, curating the Balearic - London 22Tracks playlist and as resident DJ for London’s hottest nights including Love Fever.

Kasra’s latest Atlantis EP, his second for vinyl-only imprint Love In Public Spaces, is a great introduction to a talent championing a new dubby Balearic sound bringing together both East and West…

I first started writing music because…
I was curious.

I have been making music since…
I was 17.

My music is…
Similar to what I play when I DJ.

You'll like my music if you listen to…
My shows on NTS Radio.

My favourite venue is…
Studio Spaces E2.

Music is important because…
It's a form of expression.

My biggest inspiration is…
My record collection.

My dream collaboration would be with…
Ennio Morricone.

To try me out, listen to my song…
Voyage.

If I wasn’t making music I’d be…
An archaeologist.

In 10 years’ time I want to be…
Making film soundtracks.

The Atlantis EP is out now. Check out Frenzy from the release below.
