Manchester’s Horsebeach are one of the city’s most loved acts of recent times, a guitar outfit specialising in reverb heavy dream pop.

The brainchild of singer songwriter Ryan Kennedy, he’s perfected his songwriting nous of the course of two well received albums.

The self-titled debut, recorded in his city centre flat, and follow up II, show off his love for American slacker guitar acts, all filtered through a rainy Northern window. At the same time, it's all underscored with touches of balearic electronica adding up to something rather special.

It's a heady shimmering mix and means the band are beginning to pick up attention outside their home city with a forthcoming European tour and London gig all lined up. Head over to the Horsebeach Facebook page to find out more ... and get to know Ryan in our 30 seconds interview...

We first started writing music because…
We wanted to look cool but we couldn't afford fast cars or cigarettes.

We have been making music since…
Early 2013 for Horsebeach and lot's of individual projects way before then.

Our music is…
Rain-soaked guitar-haze.

You'll like our music if you listen to...
Ducktails, Real Estate, Felt, Underwater Peoples, Captured Tracks etc.

Our favourite venue is…
Band on the wall, Manchester.

Music is important because…
It's the only thing I'm good at.

Our biggest inspiration is…
Sad books.

Our dream collaboration would be…
Matt Mondanile or Mac DeMarco.

To try us out, listen to my song…
It's Alright, featuring my girlfriend on vox.

If we weren’t making music we’d be…
Singing to people in the street and living off leftover pita bread and hummus.

In 10 years’ time we want to be...
In Japan singing for leftover pita bread and hummus.
