‘We make dirty pop music and we come from Kent’, claim Get Inuit, a gang of spritely, fresh-faced rockers unafraid of a fuzzy chorus and an obstinate, sugary hook.
Formed back in 2013, Jamie, Ollie, James and Rob spent the next 18 months perfecting their fuzzy indie pop, through support slots with the likes of Slaves, PUP and DZ Deathrays.
Named as one of XFM's Great X-Pectations for 2015, the debut EP 001 was released in February of 2015 on Alcopop Records, and single Mean Heart shortly followed in May.
They’ve since picked up burgeoning props from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Huw Stephens who are both big fans of the band. Now, thanks to backing from PRS for Music Foundation’s Momentum Music Fund, the group are putting the finishing touches to their debut album. Look out for them this year…
We first started writing music because…
Jamie's poetry was missing something.
We have been making music since…
Get Inuit came into fruition in the summer of 2013. Jamie and Oliver wanted purpose, Robert wanted to play drums and James wanted to keep tabs on his brother.
Our music is…
Dirty Pop Brit Pop Grunge Pop.
You'll like our music if you listen to...
Bully, Blondie, VANT, Weezer, Fidlar, Vampire Weekend.
Our favourite venue is…
TIED! Ramsgate Music Hall/Tunbridge Wells Forum. Don't make us choose!
Music is important because…
Soap Operas would have terrible opening credits.
Our biggest inspiration is…
Our mothers.
Our dream collaboration would be…
We've always wanted to perform a song with lyrics written Chris (The Simpson’s artist). Or maybe a Leonard Cohen prose? Either would be great!
To try us out, listen to my song…
Pro Procrastinator.
If we weren’t making music we’d be…
Quoting Austin Powers films in an abandoned warehouse.
In 10 years’ time we want to be...
Quoting Austin Powers films in fully furnished studio.
