Dua Lipa is a Kosovan-British singer-songwriter and all-round it-girl who dabbles at the darker end of the electronic pop spectrum.

Her musical hues cover the populist to the sublime, with echoes of everyone from Kendrick Lamar to alt-J in her sound.

Now with the same management team as Lana del Rey, and with the same producer (Emile Haynie) on the dials, her soulful output is doing as much for the world of electronic pop as Lana did for the classic singer-songwriter template.

Her chips rose back in November when debut track New Love pricked the ears of the BBC, landing her a place on the covered Sound Of 2016 poll.

Now on a UK tour, and with a debut album expected this spring, we reckon we'll be hearing loads more from this audacious new pop proposition in the weeks to come….

I have been making music since…
The age of 15.

My music is…
Dark pop.

My favourite venue is…
Oslo Hackney where I’ll be doing my London show on the 2nd of February.

Music is important because…
It’s the only thing I’ve ever been able to see myself doing.

My biggest inspiration is…
Life itself and its obstacles.

My dream collaboration would be…
With Kendrick Lamar.

To try me out, listen to my track…
Be the one.

If I wasn’t making music I’d be…
Asking myself why not.

In 10 years’ time I want to be…
Someone my current self would look up to.
