North London MC and rapper Double S is one of the big daddies of grime, a music maker who originally appeared with some of the scene’s key names including Chip, Skepta and Wiley.
As one of the founders of Tottenham’s Shoddy Crew, Double S picked up kudos for his fast lyrical flow, joined the music group Marvell and toured extensively with buddies Chip and Skepta.
After appearing on Wiley’s album twice with Skill Zone and Flying remix, Double S is back and throwing himself head first into his solo career. Check out Do It Like Me for where this pop-grime star’s head is at… it’s fast, hooky and destined for big things…
I first started writing music because…
My older brother was writing lyrics here and there plus I heard Dizzee Rascal, Wiley and Kano on the radio and I found it interesting.
I have been making music since…
I was 13 years old but took it serious at 17.
My music is…
My personal experiences that I choose to express to the world so they can understand me as a person.
You'll like my music if you listen to...
Grime, hip hop or r’n’b music.
My favourite venue is…
The 02 Arena. I plan on packing it out in the near future.
Music is important because…
It's an expression of the artistic people of the world that don't have a voice and can't be heard so we express ourselves with our music.
My biggest inspiration is…
Life. Nothing's better than going through your own personal experiences, makes me feel special.
My dream collaboration would be…
With Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West, Jhene Aiko would be a perfect voice as well.
To try me out, listen to my song…
Do It Like Me which is off my Flow Farda EP
If I wasn’t making music I’d be…
Very rich lol, I would have a music network like Diddys Revolt TV for our music scene over here in the UK and also give the new talent a chance to be heard.
In 10 years’ time I want to be...
A double platinum selling artist with every album I release and also release everything under my own Record Label, M-Global.
The Flow Farda EP is released on 14 June.
