London trio Critics mesh epic synths with smashing drums and neat guitars to create their self-proclaimed ‘dirt-pop’ sound.

Like alt-J riffing with The 1975, they create tight indie-pop anthems rippling with melody and space.

With their debut single, All I Wanna Know, landing earlier this month, we thought it was high time we caught up with the band to learn more…

We first started writing music because…
It's always been a natural things for us to want to create something, we believe music is something that's born within you, you just need to find the key to unlock it.

We have been making music since…
As a band we started to write together in 2014.

Our music is…
We always find it hard to explain our music, but we found ourselves coming up with the term 'dirt-pop', as we write pop songs but they have a rough edge with an authentic feel.

You'll like our music if you listen to...
Panic At The Disco, Twenty One Pilots, Pvris, The 1975, All Time Low and  The Chainsmokers.

Our favourite venue is…
We all have our own individual favourites but the favourite venue we've played on tour is the Camden Electric Ballroom.

Music is important because…
It's one of the most import art forms we have, it can help people through difficult times and make you feel apart of something.

Our biggest inspiration is…
To be one of the UK's biggest bands.

Our dream collaboration would be…
To work with Max Martin

To try us out, listen to my song…
All I Wanna Know.

If we weren’t making music we’d be…
Lynn has always said he'd be dead if he wasn't making music, Jamie would probably be working in IT and Jack would be trying to be a footballer.

In 10 years’ time we want to be...
Still creating music and touring all around the world. Any band today who has lasted 10 years as a successful band is a huge achievement.
