Northern Ireland Music Prize winner Ciaran Lavery hails from a tiny village in County Armagh, but his fragile, acoustic sounds have travelled far.
Over the last couple of years his music has graced venues across the UK and beyond, bringing another, more eclectic, angle to the traditional singer-songwriter template.
His 2016 award-winning sophomore album Let Bad In is a case in point, mashing up Americana, processed beats and a hip-hop swing with his own brand of absorbing stripped-back soul.
With an accomplished live album, Live at the Mac, just out in the world, and a third record in the works, Ciaran is set to appear on Clive Anderson’s Loose Ends BBC Radio 4 show tomorrow (Saturday 7 January) with plenty of musical swag in tow.
