Bleach Blood

Punk, pop and harmonies are the name of Bleach Blood’s musical game and it’s one they play wonderfully well. Led by former King Blues guitarist Jamie Jazz, the band has spent the last 12 months winning over hearts and minds with a string of gigs and releases. They've got a new single, H.O.P.E, primed and ready to do maximum damage over summer. M spent 30 Seconds with the band to find out why they love music and claim to be ‘too stupid’ to do anything else…

North Londoners Bleach Blood have been doing much to win hearts and minds over the last 12 months.

Led by former King Blues guitarist Jamie Jazz, the group have been waging their own war on the venues of London and beyond with their frenetic blend of pop and punk.

Augmented by drummer Invisible Frank, bassist Charlie Elliott and guitarist Paul Mullen, the group spent some time perfecting their musical potion in a warehouse in Manor Park before exposing it to the wider gig-going populace.

It was obviously time well spent. Their debut release - The Young Heartbreaker's Club EP and following singles Let Your Heart Sing and Anything Anything have done much to spread the word and ensure their sing-along lyrics and stomping basslines have been heard by many.

While the group has only been in action for a relatively brief time, they've already achieved much in their lifetime. Jamie and his merry men have recorded a coveted Maida Vale session, embarked on a nationwide tour with Sharks and performed at the Camden Rocks festival. Not only that but they have their next single, H.O.P.E, ready to for release in August.

We spend 30 Seconds to find out why the band believe they are ‘too stupid’ to do anything but make music…

We first started writing music because…

It's all we've ever done and we're too stupid to stop now.

We have been making music since…

We should have been at school studying, not hanging out in guitar shops staring at Les Paul guitars.

Our music is…

Honest, fun and really good.

You'll like our music if you listen to...

The Buzzcocks, LCD Soundsystem, Carly Rae Jepsen, Bauhaus.

Our favourite venue is…

Frank Invisible's old warehouse.

Music is important because…

It touches people's very souls like nothing else. No other art form can talk to so many people and affect the lives of people like music can.

Our biggest inspiration is…

Love, hate and hangovers.

Our dream collaboration would be…

James Murphy, David Byrne or Karen O.

To try us out, listen to our song…

Anything, Anything

If we weren’t making music we’d be…

Boring.

In 10 years time we want to be...

Making music in a peaceful world (or not dead).
