Northampton multi-instrumentalist Billy Lockett has already built himself a reputation as a sincere and soulful artist over a handful of releases.

Debut EP Pathways helped him find a home on BBC Radio 1’s playlist and fans among the likes of Huw Stephens and Greg James.

Since hitting the road Billy has also seen his first two UK headline tours sell out numerous venues across the country. He’s become a festival favourite over the summer as well as finding new audiences supporting the likes of KT Tunstall, Nina Nesbitt and Lana Del Rey.

The talented singer songwriter’s latest offering Old Man was produced by Andy Green (Paolo Nutini, KT Tunstall and Scouting for Girls) and should see this star of tomorrow delivering further on his early promise. Catch him on tour this autumn.

I first started writing music because…
I have always loved the idea of turning emotions into a piece of music.

I have been making music since…
I was eight although the songs back then weren't too great.

My music is...
Genuine and honest.

You'll like me if you listen to...
Paolo Nutini KT Tunstall or Birdy.

My favourite venue is…
King Tuts in Glasgow.

Music is important because…
It can heal so many problems. It definitely does for me anyway.

My biggest inspiration is…
My life, I only write about things I or people close to me have experienced.

My dream collaboration would be…
With Radiohead.

To try me out listen to…
My new single Old Man.

If I wasn't making music I’d be…
Probably on the dole because I really can't hold a job down.

In ten years time I want to be…
On my fourth sold out world tour
