By the sound of things, two piece punk outfit Beard of Wolves don’t deal in niceties.
Their songs are short, bloody blasts of guitar heavy noise, so raw you can almost hear the snapped guitar strings, sweat and spilt blood at the base of their creative process.
The duo liken their music to ‘getting beaten to a bloody pulp by a meth-addled Scarlett Johnasen’ while in their video, they wear pig masks and smash up a car. One thing the band aren’t is shy or retiring which is all to their credit when guitar acts are increasingly homogenised and looking to play it safe.
Adam Hughes and David Mitchell are the wolves, a duo who hail from North Wales and who, by the sound of thing, know no fear. After a single release with Wet Mouth on Too Pure in 2013, they are following it up in 2014 with new material, working with producers Tom Bellamy (The Cooper Temple Clause, Losers) and Paul Mullen (Yourcodenameis:milo, Losers).
The wolves will also be appearing at this year’s Great Escape with a likely aim of making the music industry stand up in fear. Single Wet Mouth is the perfect introduction to a band who deal in punches rather than handshakes…
