Brighton duo Sea Bed make warm blooded house music, using a mix of live instrumentation as well as the customary wires and circuit boards.

Lizzie Massey and Jim Corbin are Sea Bed, who first got together when making music as part of Brighton’s as part of four piece Tiny Dragons.

Since splintering from the band, the pair have been able to channel their love of classic R&B, disco and the guitar-flecked electronics of New Order into their music, wearing the influences in the grooves of their bumping music.

Sitting somewhere between The xx and the earlier computer funk of Moloko, there are hints of disco, techno and house, all shining amid the songwriting… get to know their forthcoming single Akira in the vid below…

We first started writing music because…
We couldn't stop ourselves.

We have been making music since…
The harsh winter of 2013.

Our music is…
Pastoral pop vs modular synthesis.

You'll like our music if you listen to...
Jeff Mills, Madonna and Imagination.

Our favourite venue is…
Tresor, Berlin.

Music is important because…
It glues our souls to one another.

Our biggest inspiration is…
Passion.

Our dream collaboration would be…
Matthew Herbert or Move D.

To try us out, listen to our song…
Akira which drops on Four Thieves Records 2 October.

If we weren’t making music we’d be…
Hustling for the dollar bill.

In 10 years’ time we want to be...
In a warm room full of synths somewhere in the depths of Berlin.

Akira is an AA side release with Caves, due out 2 October via Four Thieves.
