Welcome to our latest Friday playlist. This week we’re celebrating all the British bands who have made the long trip to Texas for South by South West.

Among their number are Fat White Family, Forest Swords, Anushka, PINS and Psychemagik – all of whom are wowing international crowds at the world’s biggest new music showcase.

A total of 19 UK artists have been performing at the Austin expo Austin, which runs from from 11 to 16 March, funded to attend by PRS for Music Foundation’s export programme. UKTI, Arts Council England, British Underground and the Musicians’ Union are also among the partners of the initiative.

Since 2006, 82 percent of the 355 artists supported by the scheme reported that they secured new deals or bookings as a direct result of their funding. The fund’s alumni include Mercury Music Prize nominees Eliza Carthy, Sway, Everything Everything, Sam Lee, Django Django and Bat for Lashes.

Dig in to our playlist below, with our top picks of tracks from the latest wave of UK acts to take on Texas.
