Music Makeover Restaurants 2017 launch event in Norfolk

Much-loved restaurant-in-a-yurt, Shuck’s, has been named winner of PRS for Music’s inaugural Music Makeover Restaurants competition, taking home a £5,000 prize to revamp the restaurant for live performances as it continues to support the local scene.

PRS for Music launched the annual Music Makeover competition six years ago to the pub sector and the following year to hairdressers and more recently restaurants and fashion retailers. The aim of the competition is to showcase and raise awareness of how important music is to local businesses. From the quality of the sound system, to acoustics, volume and playlists, music has a huge impact on both customers and staff.

Shuck's really impressed me due to its unique setting, goals and its dedication and support of local community and produce. Phil's vision of how music could really impact and grow the restaurant was impressive.

We’re absolutely delighted and thrilled that we have won, and we still can't believe it. Improving our music offering was something we had always planned on doing but we couldn't afford it, and it's going to make a massive difference to our business, inside and out. Winning the PRS for Music prize means we will now be able to showcase local talent and give our customers the ultimate dining experience.

Winner, Philip Milner of Shuck's
