About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Analyst on a permanent basis.

Operating as a highly experienced analyst, you will be a key resource in a small team responsible for owning, generating, and delivering relevant, accurate, & valuable business insights to the PRSfM enterprise.

With the ability to demonstrate simple to complex analytical techniques using industry standard tools, your role will be to help the business make timely and better-informed decisions.

The primary activities for the role will be:

  • Taking a lead role accountable for translating business use cases into business and technical requirements, transforming these into actionable insights delivered via ad hoc analysis, regular reporting, and Power BI dashboards
  • Preparing and presenting regular and ad hoc analytics findings and recommendations for action (if applicable) to relevant business areas & senior management as appropriate
  • Helping lead a direction of creating an enterprise-wide approach to delivering analytics in the PRS organisation through best practice (tools, methods, & data governance)
  • Taking a senior role in the team (no direct people management responsibilities), working closely with other members of the team to share and establish best practice where possible
  • Supporting the Data Analytics & BI Manager proactively, acting as a delegate in meetings where necessary
  • Actively collaborating with the wider Data team and business stakeholders to explore new business opportunities where advanced analytics methodologies can be implemented
  • Contributing towards discussions regarding emerging trends in data analytics and the music industry, and how these apply to the PRS business model

About you

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Proven experience and track record of Data Analysis at a senior level of responsibility and delivery
  • A comprehensive background using SQL to query, extract, and analyse large and complex datasets from relational databases
  • High proficiency in data visualisation using Microsoft Power BI and DAX
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate data visually, effectively communicating results in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical disciplines
  • Strategic thinker, with the ability to recognise the relationship between your own work and the objectives of the team and wider business
  • Self-motivated, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor data analysts

Desired skills/experience

  • Experience in advanced analytical techniques such as classification, regression, and clustering
  • Competency in using scripting languages such as Python or R would be advantageous
  • Have worked in an ITIL environment and understand the core principles of the service delivery model
  • Having knowledge of PRS, Performance Rights Organisations, and/or the music industry would enhance a candidate’s application
