Universal rumoured to drop Rondor

A news report on Billboard.biz suggests that Universal Music is prepared to drop Rondor Music from its catalogue in a bid to secure European Commission approval to purchase Bertlesmann's BMG Music Publishing.

Universal Music has already offered to drop 19 Music, 19 Songs, BBC Music and Zomba Music.

A ruling on the proposed takeover by Universal is scheduled for 1st June 2007.
