Tongue logo sold to V&ARolling Stones Tongue logo moving to London

London's Victoria and Albert museum has purchased the original artwork of the Rolling Stones' Tongue logo for $92,500 (£47,000) at an auction in the US.

The work was produced by art student John Pasche in 1970 after the band felt that designs provided by their label Decca were too bland.

Pasche was paid £50 to produce the piece which was first used on the band's 1971 album Sticky Fingers and has subsequently appeared on all the band's material.
