Composer Martin Ward and librettist Phil Porter have written a new children’s opera The Whale Savers, to be premiered at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London.
The opera is the 30th commission by W11 Opera, a non-publicly-funded music company which commissions accessible operas for 9-18 year olds.
An action-packed, witty and heart-warming piece The Whale Savers tells the story of a stranded whale whose fate divides the community of a remote fishing village.
Performances of this children’s opera are on 5 and 6 December at 3.30pm and 7.00pm.
Tickets £15 from www.riversidestudios.co.uk or phone 0208 237 1111.
