The Streets and The Last Shadow Puppets to open Electric Proms

The Streets and The Last Shadow Puppets are due to open this year’s BBC Electric Proms. The five day music festival, now in its third year, will run from 22-26 October in both London and Liverpool. 

The festival takes its name from the classical music event The Proms. Performances typically see collaborations between indie rock bands and the BBC orchestra to create alternative music. 

Other acts expected to play the festival are Nitin Sawhney, Tony Christie and XX Teens.
