The CD is 25 years old today

The CD is celebrating its 25th year today.

Abba's The Visitors is considered to be the first disc to have been produced In Hanover, Germany, pressed on 17 August, 1982.

The format wasn't brought to the market until November, and only in Japan. Music lovers in Europe and the US had to wait until March 1983.
