Taichung Jazz Festival in bid for Sax record

The annual Taichung Jazz Festival, now in its ninth year, will kick off on Saturday 11 October 2008 in the city of Taichung, Taiwan.

The festival will feature an attempt to break the world record for the largest number of saxophonists playing as an ensemble, currently standing at some 900 musicians.

At present 500 musicians have applied to take part and the local Culture Affairs Bureau are urging people, no matter what their ability, to perform.
